The fight for a clean environment continues with increasing urgency, as the ravages of climate change become more manifest every day. www.earthday.org We invite you to be a part of Earth Day by participating in these local events: Green ME Up! at L.L.Bean, Freeport 95 Main Street, Freeport, ME 04032 April 21st at 10:00 am Celebrate Earth Day with a free, fun-filled day, and learn how you can take action to keep Maine green today and in the future! Hands-on earth friendly activities with Natural Resources Council of Maine, Maine Audubon, Wolfe’s Neck Farm, Sustainable Forestry Initiative, PaintCare, and more. You’ll even get to see on stage performances! Seeds to plant, mud to play with, natural materials to create art with and more! Meet live animals with animal rehabilitator Josh Sparks (additional fee) and handle live caterpillars and moths with David Champlin, USM Biology professor. Throughout the day there will be earthy story times, special face painting, and exploration of their collection of live honeybees, turtles, and tidepool creatures. Hello All! We are excited to share with everyone the annual event of Maple Syrup Sunday in Maine! March 25th 2018 - Join Maine’s Maple Syrup Producers, statewide, as they celebrate Maine Maple Sunday. Most sugar-houses offer free maple syrup samples and demonstrations on how pure Maine maple syrup is made. Many farms offer games, activities, treats, sugar-bush tours, music, and so much more. Maine Maple Sunday is always the fourth Sunday in March although some sugar-houses are offering events for both Saturday and Sunday. To find a location near you please CLICK HERE!
